Audio Issues on HP ProBook450 G7 Laptops


In the last few days we’ve had three separate instances of customers reporting their HP ProBook laptops speakers are not working as expected. At fist it looked to be a hardware fault however our cunning tech, Matthew, has figured out this is actually a driver issue.

Matthew says “These laptops can sometimes face audio issues where all the audio sounds tinny and as though the speakers are broken. This can usually be fixed by reinstalling the HP chipset, audio and BIOS drivers. Make sure that you install them in the corresponding order: Chipset -> Audio -> BIOS”

As this is a new issue we can’t guarantee that after this fix is implemented, it will not recur. We have reported this to HP.
